A rather dodgy looking electricity wall box in Upton Ope (“ope” being old Cornish for an alley).

Lucy Switchgear started in Jericho, Oxford in the Eagle Iron Works which was established in 1825 by William Carter and producing street furniture, agricultural implements etc. By 1830 it was being run by William Grafton and William Lucy, the latter giving his name to the enterprise in 1873 on his partner's death. Following the slump in the building industry in the late 1880s they diversified into electrical products. The firm still operates today as Lucy Switchgear.
