Unis France 301 mignonette doll (18cm) with Art Nouveau furniture, all-bisque 1920s doll's house doll and 1950s Steiff fox terrier. She has a fine bisque swivel head with fixed dark grey glass eyes (a small nick to her left eye), a slightly grubby composition body with painted shoes and socks, and is wearing her original factory shift. The washstand is a home-made antique, the armchair is made of pressed card ("Korbi" furniture by Karl Schreiter, Buchholz/Erzgebirge). The room setting is provided by the children's cut-and-paste book "Découpons et collons. La Maison de ma Poupée" illustrated by George Alfred Williams with text by J. Jacquin, published by Hachette in Paris ca. 1910. This is the French edition of Clara Andrews Williams and George Alfred Williams' "The doll's house that glue built" published by Stokes in New York in 1910. The worn Steiff fox terrier and the old clothes peg are from the flea market.
